Story of a Detainee 1: A Hospital Guard

A.A., 50 years old, was an employee at the Damascus Hospital.

On October 8 2012, he was standing guard in front of the hospital door. At one point, security personnel came and took him from in front of his work and into one of the underground basements. After blindfolding him, they told him that he was charged with injecting patients with diesel injections to end their lives. After he denied these charges, the torture began. They would drench him with water and place electric wires on his wet body. After they finished the electrocution sessions, they would start using the cable, or what is called (Al-Akhdar Al-Ibrahimi).

After 21 days, by divine power, the jailer entered A.A.’s cell and told guards to release him. He returned to his work, but for 14 years he was unable to reveal what had happened to him up until this moment.

He continued his work in the Damascus hospital. He saw the dead people who were brought from the prisons and how they were handed over to their families and how they told the doctors to write that they had died.
